Yate Academy and Woodlands Primary Parent Letter
Dear Parent,
Following careful consideration and consultation with stakeholders the Board of Trustees of the Greenshaw Learning Trust decided that it would be to the benefit of school and its students to reorganise the current all-through school to become Yate Secondary Academy and Woodlands Primary School, operating as two individual schools but continuing to work closely together under the umbrella of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.
Work has been underway to establish the two individual schools, but the necessary approval from the Department for Education’s Regional Schools Commissioner (RSC) has been delayed and the formal creation of Yate Secondary Academy and Woodlands Primary School will not be able to take place in September.
The Trust will continue to make the case to the RSC and hope that we will be able to establish the two schools in the new year.
In the meantime the school will continue to operate as it has been, as a single school with the primary and secondary phases led by Kirsty Borrill and Izzy Ambrose respectively. This will not change our plans for the school’s staff or students and will not cause any disruption to the education provided across all age groups at Yate.
We will update you as soon as we are able to.
Darren Reynolds,
Chair of the Governing Body, Yate Academy.
Mike Cooper,
Chair of the Board of Trustees, Greenshaw Learning Trust.
