Yate Academy students are celebrating another year of outstanding grades. The day that Year 11 students collect their results is always the highlight of the year and this year feels particularly special after the significant disruption that students have experienced.  They have shown incredible resilience and should be extremely proud of the exceptional grades that they have achieved.

Headteacher, Natalie Wilcox, said “I couldn’t be prouder of this group of young people. Each of them has had their own individual challenges to overcome and the results are exceptional. Yet again, students will find themselves amongst the top results in the country and it is so well-deserved.”

Success can look different for each young person and it is important to celebrate students who have achieved exceptional outcomes and those who have made exceptional progress over their time at the school. Ruby Pike begins her A Level studies with 7 grades 9s as well as 3 grade 8s and Joe Hendy achieved an impressive 3 grade 9s, 3 Distinction*s and 4 grade 8s. Will Smith, Toby Purnell, Ruby Schollick and Mackenzie Williams all celebrate at least 4 top grades and all grades 7+ in their subjects which is a phenomenal achievement. Kai Wood (Distinction, Merit, 4x7, 2x6 and 1x5) and Lily Archer (Distinction*, 1x8, 2x7 and 4x6) also achieved outstanding grades as well as demonstrating incredible progress over their 5 years at Yate Academy. There are so many students that could be mentioned who will be celebrating their outcomes. 46% of students achieved a top grade in at least one subject with 19% achieving two or more top grades. This is an excellent achievement as these grades are extremely hard to achieve.

James Maggs, Assistant Headteacher and Year 11 lead said, “I am incredibly proud of what the students have achieved this year. These outcomes reflect the hard work and dedication that all students have displayed.  They have overcome many challenges over the last 2 years and I hope that all students continue and maintain the level of determination they have shown into the next stages of their education.”

Natalie Wilcox added, “I would like to thank the students and their families for their hard work and commitment during the most challenging of times. I would also like to give credit to staff for everything they have done to support students during their Key Stage 4 course. I am incredibly lucky to work with such a fantastic group of professionals.”
